Hello Dear Friends!

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers: It’s been noted recently that some lectors and EM’s bow to the tabernacle when approaching or going on the altar during Mass. This is not something lectors or EM’s should be doing. Deacon Mike has asked me to address this issue with all lectors and EM’s. It is church protocol that an individual should profoundly bow or kneel to the Blessed Sacrament when they first enter the Sanctuary - (the red Sanctuary candle will be lit). A profound bow should be done facing the altar if the Blessed Sacrament is not present. The same is done when leaving the Sanctuary after Mass. The lector or EM may slightly bow to the altar  during Mass if they so choose, but it is not necessary. The only exception is when the ciborium is brought from the altar back to the tabernacle after Holy Communion Then all bow with the priest/deacon to the Blessed Sacrament. I hope this clears up any confusion. It is most appreciated that everyone uniformily does the same thing according to protocol. 

 

The lector Ministry welcomes Emily Smith to the group! Emily will lector at the 8:00 and 11:00 Mass. Welcome back John Murphy to the lector ministry at 5:00 Mass!

 

A friendly reminder to please obtain substitutes if you are unable to serve as scheduled.

Arrive on time (15 minutes before Mass) and say the prayer with the group! Thanks.
