Administration/FinancePastoral Council
St. Paul Pastoral Council is a group of volunteer lay people who advise the Pastor about important affairs in the parish so that St. Paul can serve the many varied and changing needs of its parishioners. The Pastoral Council functions according to church laws.
The Pastoral Council consists of parishioners who volunteer their time and ability. Council members are nominated and elected by the Parish to fill any vacancies occurring and as terms expire on a three-year rotation. The Pastor may appoint some individuals who have a specific background helpful to the Pastoral Council. The Pastor and certain other parish staff are ex-officio members of the Council. The Epistle staff additionally meets as necessary each month to organize the next issue, accepts inputs submitted by the 15th of the month, and dates each issue the last Sunday of each month. Contact Cynthia White - 636-2249 for additional information.Directory of Services and Ministries Committee
This committee is responsible for annually obtaining the current information for the ministries at St. Paul. In this way, all parishioners will be informed of the various ministries, with registered parishioners serving on them, and services available. St. Paul Catholic Church is fortunate to have approximately 90 ministries with dedicated volunteers. In addition, the most current list of registered parishioners, at the time of printing, with address and phone number is listed. It is important to keep the Church office aware of any changes in your personal information.
In addition, there is a Ministry Fair each fall where you may learn about the services that are available to you as well as provide an opportunity for you to volunteer. If you are interested in becoming a part of a ministry, please get in touch with the contact person or any member of that ministry. This is a wonderful way to become involved in your Parish and meet other parishioners. Bulletin Ministry
Our weekly parish bulletin is primarily intended to promulgate information for the events and activities scheduled to occur that week. The bulletin is initially distributed and made available to parishioners in conjunction with the weekend Mass schedule. Items for the bulletin are accepted in the Parish Office or by e-mail - stpaul@coastalnc.us and should be in the office by noon on Tuesday. Parishioners comprising the Church Bulletin Staff Group assist, as necessary, in the planning, assembly, and distribution of the weekly bulletin. Please contact the Parish Secretary - 638-1984 for additional information.
Child Safety Environment Program
The ministry of the Child Safety Environment Program has been implemented to protect first, the children in our church and second, the adults who volunteer or work with the children. This program requires ANY volunteer or worker to fill out a form for a background check and 2.5 hours of class on abuse and ways to recognize or stop it. A lot of our parishioners are either in or retired from companies or the military. Since organizations DO NOT share background checks with other organizations, we need to do our own. The information is entered and locked. The information we get back is either approved or not approved with no details. Persons volunteering as coaches, leaders of any youth group, caregivers for any function, transportation providers (even with parent), teachers & etc. are subject to the above conditions. For more information or questions please call Dena Sierocki at 638-9327 or (cell) 229-9527.
Worship and Spiritual Life
Liturgy Committee
This Committee serves as a task force to ensure the quality of liturgical celebrations in the parish. Ongoing formation and enrichment is to enhance the quality of prayer of our church community. As a developing process, the committee meets to discuss and plan future activities to accomplish this. "Faith grows when it is expressed in celebration. Good celebrations foster and nourish faith. Poor celebrations may weaken and destroy it. To celebrate the liturgy means to do the action or perform the sign in such a way that its full meaning and impact shine forth in clear and compelling fashion." U.S. CATHOLIC BISHOPS. Stewardship Ministry
Fostering Stewardship as a Way of Life ---Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus
Stewardship is based on the understanding that all that we have and all that we are is a gift from God - our time, our talents, our treasure - money and even the gift of life itself. We show our gratitude for these gifts by returning a portion of them back to God.
When we consider our participation in stewardship, we need to include our time and talent, as well as our treasure. As with our Sacrificial Giving, giving time and talent expresses our gratitude to the God has given us these gifts.
Development ensures that future generations may realize the sacrifices for our Church. The seeking of financial gifts is so very important for the way it inspires God's people to holiness through self-giving and for the way it enables the mission of the Church by sustaining and expanding the many ministries to which we are committed for the building up of God's Kingdom. for more information/and or volunteering for this ministry call Msgr. Lewis - 638-1984.

Minister of Hospitality
The greeters and ushers at the parish services are the Ministers of Hospitality; they are first and foremost a Minister who allows the Saturday Evening Mass and Sunday Assembly to feel at home. Perhaps, more than other Ministers, a greeter or usher must be people oriented. Strangers need to be put at ease; visitors need to be welcomed; the physically and mentally handicapped need to experience the love of the community and realize their importance to its Christian integrity. The duties of the ushers are to seat the people, select the gift bearers, take up the collections, and perform other duties that may be required during the services. For more information, please contact Jim Dunham, 638-9034.

Gospel Choir
The St. Paul Gospel Choir got its start in the early years in
St. Joseph's Catholic Church under the pastoral leadership of Monsignor James
Jones in 1978-79. Since then, the choir witnessed the integration movement and
the merging of the two Churches of St. Paul and St. Joseph to form St. Paul
Catholic Church. The choir was then nurtured, counseled and encouraged by Father JaVan Saxon, associate pastor of St. Paul's during those remaining years prior
to his reassignment.
Over the years, the Gospel Choir has grown in size and confidence and
contributes its success to a strong faith in God and great leadership. If you
desire to praise the Lord with song, please join us for rehearsal on Tuesday
evenings from 6:30-8 p.m. and our weekly liturgical participation in song on
Sunday morning at the 8 a.m. Mass. For more information, contact Deborah

Hispanic Choir - 7 PM Saturday Mass
The Hispanic Choir was formed in 1996. It consists of male and female voices offering praise and glory to God. The Hispanic Choir sings at the 7 PM Mass on Saturday, at our Lady of Guadalupe Mass and at the celebrations of the Lenten and Easter services. Rehearsals are held every Friday evening at the home of Delores Santi, the choir director and pianist. Most of the hymns are sung in Spanish; however, some bilingual hymns are sung in Spanish and English. The congregation joins the choir in our praise and devotion to God. If interested, please contact Delores Santi,514-6837 or Elena Turner, 637-2852.
Adult Choir - 11 AM Sunday Mass

a sense of joy in delivering the Gospel through music. Music is a very important
part of the liturgy and it is a rewarding experience to be a part of that. We
provide the music for the Sunday morning, 9:45 a.m. Mass and rehearse directly
after Mass in the School Library. Please join us. He, who sings, prays twice.
